The ar may be inherently more accurate and lighter overall. but the weight is all up front, which blows.

It's much more accurate, can be shot on both sides with no issue, suppresses better, mounts.
With practice it's the fastest rifle to reload i've shot.
Parts are plentiful and cheap, and you'll never run short.
